In most cases, you will be provided with a rental car in a similar size category as your own vehicle or smaller, but not necessarily with the same level of equipment or features. We recommend that you always check the specific terms of your insurance policy before booking your rental car.
When renting a car through your insurance, the insurance company may cover all or part of the rental cost, depending on your policy. The cost is typically based on a daily rate plus a variable cost per kilometer. Insurance companies may reimburse these costs in different ways—for example, by covering a percentage of the total cost (e.g. 75%) or by covering the full daily rate and part of the mileage cost (e.g. two-thirds). Any remaining cost is paid by you as the customer. The reason you are responsible for part of the mileage cost is that insurance companies view this as reflecting the depreciation of your own vehicle due to usage.
